Sunday at Chautauqua

Aaron came to our condo at 9am so that I could leave for choir, and he took Kevin to Sunday School an hour later.

When I arrived to pick up Kevin after another glorious morning worship, he was playing on the twirly jungle gym with his new friend Jack and Jack's Dad pushing the kids around.

Jack's Mom and Dad insisted that Kevin and I have lunch with them.  The Mom told me that Jack went to B&G's Club begrudging until he met Kevin.  Having a friend has made a world of difference.

While lunch was being prepared, the Dad played Charades with the kids (they have 3).

After lunch, their family went to the beach and invited us to join them.  We had to return to the condo to put on swim suits.

Kevin was having such a wonderful time that he and Jack did not want to leave for The Blessing of the Animals at 4pm adjacent to the beach.  The Dad stayed with them while the Mom and I retrieved our dogs and went to the Blessing.

I say that dogs recognize their breed AND their color!  These four chocolate labs LOVED meeting!  The woman in white shorts is holding Guinness's leash while I took some photos.

The Flecks came to the Blessing.  My star photographed by Bob:
Our new friends insisted we have dinner with them, so I went home for a chocolate cake and Reese's PB Cup ice cream to make a contribution to the meal.  Meanwhile, Kevin had a bath with Jack which he found to be bizarre -- that they were both naked.  ha!

Kevin wanted to hear the tour of Palestine Park at 7pm.  The leader of that tour is very good and is a local Methodist minister from Asbury Seminary.
He includes the children in his explanations and keeps their attention.   At the end, he showed the kids a slingshot and how it works, then let them experiment with shooting a stone into the lake.

After it was over, Kevin realized he had not asked about the Mount of rocks he likes to climb.  So he ran after the man to ask.  Kevin couldn't find him, but, as we rode our bikes back home, we caught up with him.  He explained that mountain is at the north end of Palestine, but I neglected to ask what Biblical reference there is to it.

We Skyped with Mom & Dad when they arrived home from a movie until after 10:00.
