Traveling Home

When Greg's family was ready for church, Kevin and I needed to head for the airport.  I wanted to be there in time to do some shopping for something to wear to my Dallas-themed Rotary farewell party.  I found a couple of OK items including this cowboy hat.

We flew to LaGuardia where we had an almost three hour layover.  I asked at our landing gate in C Terminal where to find the best sit-down restaurants and shopping.   They suggested Terminal D -- just a short shuttle ride away.  That terminal also has hundreds of free iPads for travelers to use.  We didn't see any great restaurant as we looked around, but found the iPads and sat playing with them for a while.
When time was running short, I told Kevin we needed to leave and go back to Terminal C for some quick food.  We accidentally walked OUT of security -- with NO sign warning us we were leaving security!!!  So there we were stuck -- out side the terminal with the clock ticking.  We got in the huge line for the shuttle to Terminal C.  When the bus came, it filled, leaving us still standing there.  Another bus came, but we had to wait until it was full before leaving.  And the roads were totally NYC -- clogged!!!!  It was a very slow trip back to C.  I told security what had happened, and they rushed us through!  We made it, but with NO time to buy food.

When Melanie met us in Buffalo, we asked if we could stop at Anderson's for some roast beef sandwiches and frozen custard.
