Preparing and Traveling to Chautauqua

Grandma spent the morning preparing to leave for three weeks, and Kevin produced an awesome drawing of a shark!!!!

At the last minute, Grampa decided he could not go with us this week!!!! :-0 It was too much to have to carry an ailing 80 pound dog up and down the flight of stairs 3 or 4 times per day, then drive back home on Wednesday for Guinness's surgery, plus he had so much work to accomplish that he needed to stay home.

We stopped in Niagara Falls for our mail and a bathroom break at Wegman's. Kevin decided he was hungry, and we had a little picnic at Wegman's picnic tables.

They were selling potted star-gazer lilies -- Mommy's wedding and funeral flower. We had to have one for our porch at Chautauqua!
While in the checkout line, the friendly man ahead of us told Kevin he was driving his Trolley for a wedding party today and invited him to visit it in the parking lot!!!

He let Kevin pull the horn!

Upon arrival, we had to unload the car without Grampa's help and carry everything upstairs. Kevin was a good helper. He carried the flowers.

We had our supper at an outdoor 50's restaurant with waitresses on rollerskates. Kevin ordered a yummy chocolate peanut butter shake. He bumped it to the ground, but they gave him another. The second time, it came with a lid on it!

We spent the evening grocery shopping, getting settled, and learning to use the TV equipment. Frustrating!!! If we pause a DVD, there is no sound without shutting everything off and going back to the beginning of the DVD. There has to be a better way...
